Leilani Joy has been painting and drawing for most of her life, but perhaps her greatest claim to fame came when Disney selected her to create officially licensed art exclusively for the WonderGround Gallery at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. She regularly posts on YouTube and Twitch where she live-streams “Paint Alongs” and shares her goofy personality and geeky loves with over 52,000 subscribers. Not only that, but she recently launched a 6-week online course called “Art NuVogue U” where she promises a “fast track ‘Art School’ experience.” Whether you are a fan of Disney or original artwork, marvel at these 5 gorgeous paintings created by artist Leilani Joy.
1. Tick-Tock Tink (2014)
Tinkerbell is getting sassy in front of Big Ben. Peter Pan was never the same after meeting this sprite and now you’ve been visited too!
2. The Queen’s Way (2014)
Off with her head? Sure, why not. All the best people are off their head. This Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland is not amused.
3. Maleficent (2014)
This painting was created to commemorate the release of Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent film! Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora would have no trouble staying awake if this was hanging above her bed.
4. Evil Most Fair (2014)
Silly Evil Queen, that’s not how you make caramel apples. Did you know? Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was the first animated feature film in American history. Delicious.
5. Rebel With A Cause (2017)
Shortly after Carrie Fisher’s untimely passing, Disney asked Leilani what she wanted to paint for her return to the WonderGround. She suggested Star Wars. Something tells me Carrie would have loved this.
